Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez comes originally from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two siblings and has an older brother. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. The schooling she completed was at Bahrain and she won an Scholarship for an education at University of Sydney. There she was awarded a Media and Communications degree. In order to further her interest in different cultures, languages and languages she enrolled in the Berlitz schools of languages where she was able to learn Spanish as well as improve French as well as Arabic. The crown was awarded to Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then competed at Miss Universe 2006. In 2006, she took home her the Miss Sri Lanka title. She was raised in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she competed in badminton at national level championships but left her professional career to become a fashion model. Padukone has Mangalorean origins and speaks Konkani as her mother tongue. Her ancestors come from the village of Padukone within the Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend before retiring in the 1980s. The mother of her daughter, who worked for a travel agency, also hails from this village.
